Quick answer
Use the hiring board near the noodle bar in Meridian Market, then check the worker's role and shift. The opening playthrough documents that board during the waiter tutorial. Hiring someone alone does not show whether you have useful coverage when customers arrive.

Find the terminal and choose a worker
- If you are on the opening waiter objective, follow its marker and inspect the hiring board near your noodle bar.
- Review the candidates and their role skills. Choose for the job you need rather than assuming every worker performs every task equally well.
- After hiring, inspect the venue staff screen. Check which roles are enabled and when that worker is scheduled.
A community staff guide describes selectable cooking, serving and cleaning role icons, plus wanted hours and a wage readout. Those details are community observations, not a test performed by this site.
Set coverage before adding seats
| Problem | What to inspect |
|---|---|
| Customers wait but nobody serves | Is a serving role enabled and on shift? |
| A worker leaves before service ends | Does the shift cover your intended operating period? |
| Worker mood falls after a schedule change | Recheck preferred hours and the displayed pay/mood feedback |
| Kitchen orders pile up | Check cooking coverage and equipment access, not just headcount |
Compare the operating period, each shift and the duties shown for that person. Change one setting at a time and watch what the worker actually does.
Wages and managers
Keep money available for the displayed payroll requirement. Early guides describe payment timing differently, so this page does not calculate a supposedly fixed daily wage from those accounts. Use your current staff UI and wallet deductions.
Managers are a separate role with ordering and delivery behavior. Official October 5 patch notes revise restocking and delivery notifications. Do not assume a manager instantly resolves missing food; verify it in venue storage.
If the venue remains slow
Check ingredients, role coverage and routes before hiring several more people. A worker count is not a guarantee of adequate service. We do not prescribe an optimal staff number, a universal wage or an unlock tier for every venue.
